Etsy's New Coupon Code!

I decided to try Etsy's new coupon code tonight. I've been waiting for a few days for this to become active in my shop. I'm just having a sale tonight to check it out and see how everything runs. So far so good and I've made a few sales!

Sale ends tonight (11/20) at 10PM (CT).
This is just a test to see how the coupon works, so I'll have another very soon.

Coupon code: 112010

I wanted to show off the finished soap. I covered the bar with a brown paper bag and a cute red checked ribbon. Didn't they turn out well?

The Cook

I decided to pull the crock pot out and make some soap today. I was pretty well stocked for several weeks, so I haven't made soap in what seemed like ages! Above is the "cook". The oils and lye/water are almost done cooking. I melted my oils on high and cooked on a low setting.
Here it is all ready to add the essential oils. This batch has Lemongrass and Basil oils. It smells divine! I waited a few minutes between turning off the crock pot and adding my essential oils.
One plus of soap making is that clean up is easy! I put the crock pot in my sink, add all my spoons, cups, and spatulas , add water and walk away!
Of course, I will have to come back and rinse everything off before I put them in the dishwasher. :)
A long shot of the finished soap. I sprinkled lemon peel on the top. It will be ready to cut in just a few hours. These will be in my shop, at Crestwood Court, in a few weeks.

Super Busy And Some New Things

I added some new packaging to my shop this past week. Above is a picture of my new lotion bottles. I love the bright blue color! They are 4 ounce bottles, but hold almost 5 ounces of lotion.
I love the round look and how I was able to put the list of ingredients on the side of the bottle.
I also decided to add lip balm in tubes. I, personally love lip balm in tubs, but most people like the tubes....so here they are! Right now I have Coconut Lime, Cafe Latte, Sweet Raspberry, and Peppermint!
Stay tuned for more products to come in this week!

I Can Smell Christmas!

I'm getting ready for my street teams (ShowMeEtsy) trunk show, which is going to be October 16th. I think gift sets will do well during the show. Last night I wrapped up quite a few sets. This set is two bars of Pomegranate Cold Process Soaps, with a wooden soap dish.
I used regular typing paper for the wrapping. I used the second half of my Paypal shipping labels.

Have You Thought Of Christmas Yet?

If not, you should! I usually start purchasing right after the 4th of July. I dislike crowds, and if I start early, I don't have to deal with grumpy crowds.
I put three of my favorite scents together, along with a soap dish....makes a wonderful gift!
Click on the soaps to purchase....easy peasy!

Smoke! Cold Process Swirled Soap

I just love how this soap turned out! It's scented with Black Tea Fragrance Oil, but it reminds me of Smoke....so that's what I'm going to call it!
Here is how the company describes it: "This smoky, sexy and sophisticated fragrance is reminiscent of roasted tea leaves with strong overtones of tobacco. With surprising top notes of Italian Bergamot, Sicilian Lemon and Southern Orange, the blend winds down with Black Tea Leaves, Star Jasmine, White Cedarwood, Amber Crystal and a rich musk. This is a bold and unusual scent sure to intrigue."
Now, how can you not want to try this!! It won't be ready for several more weeks, so stay tuned!

Goat's Breath Beer Soap!!

I used beer from a local brewery to make this soap! It's called Goat's Breath and it's made at the O'Fallon Brewery in O'Fallon, Missouri.
I added a little Happy Man scent to the beer just to jazz it up a bit. It's very slightly scented.
For those that are not familiar with Beer Soap, the soap does not have a beer scent when finished. It will sometimes have a slight "nutty" scent.
Wouldn't this make a great gift for any man?
It just looks so "manly"

St. Louis Cool Art and Jazz Festival At Queeny Park

I have my first show this weekend! I'm so excited! It's a 3 day show at the Cool Art/Jazz Festival at Queeny Park. I'm leaving in a little bit to help set up. ShowMeEtsy is a group of Etsy sellers from the St. Louis area. We have a Street Team on Etsy and you can visit our group on our Blog.

Cool Art/Jazz Festival

Art, live music, food, kids' activities. This weekend's Cool Art, Hot Jazz Festival in Queeny Park is filled with fun for the whole family. For art lovers, there are 130 juried artists from all across the U.S. and Canada showing off their paintings, scuplture, photography and more. The interactive children's program gives kids of all ages the chance to meet the artists and learn more about their work. Local emerging artists, like the ShowMeEtsy group, will also have booths at the festival where they will be selling jewelry, decorations and other crafts.

Summer Hydrangea Cold Process Soap

This soap was "supposed" to be pink and green! It started to trace faster than I wanted so I quickly plopped it into the mold without any color, but I really like how it turned out. It hasn't changed colors during curing, which is nice! I took the picture with a bloom from my Hydrangea Bush. The bloom is about 8 inches wide! They started out blue, and later in the summer turned pink, and now they have this fantastic rose color! Oh, the soap smells fantastic too!

Blackberries From My Own Bush!

We have several Blackberry bushes in our backyard. DH planted them about 5 years ago. His idea of planting is to dig a hole, plant the bush, give them a drink of water, and then to leave them to survive on their own! LOL! Last year we actually had a few berries (I think a total of 3!) and this year the bushes are COVERED with berries. I have been able to eat quite a few, but most have not ripened. Here's a group....they are HUGE! I took some pictures of the berries with my soap and lotion. This is my Blackberry Sage Soap.
It's so hard to take a full picture of my bottles..they are so tall!

Summer In St. Louis!

A beautiful blend of Jasmine and Sandalwood! The colors were supposed to be purple and green, but the purple turned out my "gray"....but it still has a wonderful scent!!

Salad Anyone?

I colored the base with a light green and the smaller swirl with the same color, but more concentrated. It's scented with Avocado Mint!
