I was having problems finding Lye a few months ago. It's not sold in many stores due to the Meth labs that keep popping up here in Missouri. My husband was out running errands and I asked him to stop at a hardware store that I had not checked out yet. I told him I needed lye to make my soap. Well, he tried and I'm now a proud owner of LYE SOAP! LOL! It's a large bar and already has DOS (dreaded orange spots)....yuck!
Next time I need lye, I'll pick it up myself!

Aren't husbands great!?! What would we do without them? Love your blog and your products!
LOL, my hubby is the same....Fantastic soaps!
How funny!
Orange spots? Was it not the right stuff? I know nothing about soap-making but yours looks really inviting!
Lol, the last time my husband was actually listening to what I was saying he was backing up the car at the same time....accidently riped the side view mirror right off!!
The "smoke" soap looks lovely! Great blog and great Etsy shop!

Too too funny! Gotta love the fact that he tried lol!
Amy, I bought some lye soap last year in Camdenton at the farmers market. I used it all winter for washing my hands. I'm still using it. It was the first winter in many years I have not had cracked and bleeding hands!
Haven't been by in a very long time. I'm adding you to my list. I decided it definitely needs some updating!
Funny husbands!
Those MO meth labs ruin everything. I'm in St. Louis too and buying more than one bottle of cough medicine is a real challenge.
