Art In Bloom

Art In Bloom, which is being held this weekend, is where our Garden Club is meeting on Saturday morning. I hope the weather holds up!

Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, German, 1880–1938; Pink Roses, 1918; oil on canvas; 31 1/2 x 27 7/8 inches; Gift of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pulitzer Jr; 592:1958

During Art in Bloom weekend, stroll through the Museum's galleries or take a free, docent-led tour of the floral arrangements and the art that inspired them. Enjoy flower-arranging demonstrations and fabulous music by talented performers in Grigg Gallery.

This year, in the Auditorium, one of New York's leading fashion florists Michael George discusses the evolution of floral design in the 20th century, and textile historian, conservator, and curator Linda Eaton from Winterthur Museum & Country Estate shares stories behind the Museum's featured exhibition.

While you are here, be sure to visit beautiful Sculpture Hall, bursting with fragrant flowers and spring colors. Join us for lunch in this lovely setting designed and coordinated by Trisha Haislar of Elegant Celebrations in Collinsville and Rhonda Lynn-Moeckel of Focus on Design by Schnuck Markets in St. Louis. Their work was supported by numerous local florists and wholesalers who volunteered their time and creative energy.
